2008 Election and Media

I am not really in to political stuff, but recently I have been watching TV about the election between Hillary Clinton and Obama. From what I do know I think Obama is the best candidate, because he is smarter and he is the right person for the job. I think that media play big part in the 2008 elections, nether of the parties will not succeed with out Media.

Woman finds human finger in bowl of chili at Wendy's restaurant

If I was the CEO of Wendy’s, the first thing I would do is right away get a lawyer and then make a new commercial on a national TV how Wendy’s food is great and healthy. How the restaurants are clean and talk about the incident, how it will never happen again

This is the article
San Jose, California — A woman eating a bowl of chili at a Wendy's restaurant bit into a chewy
bit that turned out to be a human finger. She immediately spat it out, warned other patrons to stop eating, and upon recognizing the object as a finger, vomited.
"I'm more of a Carl's Jr. person," the 39-year-old Las Vegas woman, Anna Ayala, told Knight Ridder. She said this incident was her first visit to a Wendy's restaurant. Ayala described how she found the finger, "Suddenly something crunchy was in my mouth," she continued, "and I spit it out."
According to Devina Cordero, 20, after Ayala found the finger, she ran up to her and Cordero's boyfriend and said, "Don't eat it! Look, there's a human finger in our chili."
"We went up to the counter and they told us it was a vegetable," Cordero continued. "The people from Wendy's were poking it with a spoon."
The restaurant is located at 1405 Monterey Highway, just south of downtown San Jose.

Chili was still on the menu as the restaurant closed for the evening.
Wikinews reporter David Vasquez drove his car up to the drive-thru menu and found that chili was still on the menu, at a price of US$1.19 for a small serving. He also witnessed workers unloading supplies from a semi-trailer truck in the restaurant's parking lot, and carting them into the back door of the establishment.
According to Ben Gale, director of environmental health for Santa Clara County, the finger did not come from any of the employees at the restaurant. "We asked everybody to show us they have 10 fingers and everything is OK there," he said. The found portion of the finger likely belonged to a woman because of its long and manicured fingernail, also found in the food.
Officials seized the food supply at the restaurant and are tracing it back to the manufacturer, where they believe the finger may have gotten mixed in with the raw ingredients used to prepare the chili. The restaurant's operators were later permitted to re-open after preparing new chili prepared from fresh ingredients.

Workers unload fresh supplies after closing time.
As this story was filed, there was no mention of the incident on the Wendy's corporate web site. Wendy's issued a statement through a spokesman.
"Food safety is of utmost importance to us," said Wendy's spokesman Joe Desmond. He referred to the incident as an "unsubstantiated claim."
"We are cooperating fully with the local police and health departments with their investigation. It's important not to jump to conclusions. Here at Wendy's we plan to do right by our customers," Desmond said.
According to county health officials, the unfortunate woman who bit into the finger is doing fine, despite her initial reaction. Officials also noted that the finger would have been cooked at a high enough temperature to destroy any viruses.
The Santa Clara county medical examiner reported that the finger had a solid fingerprint, although investigators did not say if a search of fingerprint databases would be performed to find the owner of the finger.

How has music changed over the last 100 years? What has remained the same?

In the past 100 years music has changed in money ways. The first reliable music records came from the Greeks and the Romans. Americans musical history is very short when compared to other country. When people began to write music sung in churches. Well people back then and now they use music for religious faith to other people, to express themselves, to have fun and they enjoy writing music. Music used to be bought on record, now people use simple thing like mP3 player, Ipod, CD player and other simple thing. Well now music is completely changed, we have more selection of music like rap R&B, rock, jazz and others. The only thing has been remained the same is jazz. I can’t go a day with it out music its plays a big role in my live. Every time I go for a run or go to the gym I always have my music on, I can’t go to sleep with out music playing on my computer.

responce to classmates newspaper projects and our schol newspaper

Response to classmate’s newspaper projects

I thought everybody did really well on their project including our group. I like how everyone wants to change from hard copy newspaper to online with out all any types of advertising popping on your face; basically you have a choice to see what u want.

Our school newspaper

I don’t really read the school newspaper but I have read it once or twice. The first thing I don’t like about our school newspaper is the title” tartan” they need to change that it’s just does not sound right. Second they always make a mistake especially on the sport section they don’t know what they are talking about; they need to get somebody who knows what they are talking about. For example putting wrong information for track times and putting somebody is name for wrong events. For the future they should make the newspaper more interesting, colorful, more information about what is going on in the school and the world.

Sharapova, Venus looking to rebound after protracted time off

Tournament: Italian OpenSurface: ClayDraw: 64Prize money: $1.34 million Top seeds: Ana Ivanovic, Maria Sharapova, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Jelena Jankovic
One out, two in at the Italian Open.
Justine Henin, seemingly mentally drained, bailed following an early loss to eventual champion Dinara Safina last week at the German Open, while Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams return.
Organizers must be hoping for some semblance of normality: Henin, Serena Williams, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Jelena Jankovic all failed to reach the semifinals in Berlin. Ivanovic struggled to make the last four, where she was eliminated by the gutsy Elena Dementieva.
First Quarter: It's looking light Six qualifiers and two wildcards find themselves in this quarter, so Ivanovic doesn't have much reason to complain. The Serb gets a qualifier in her opener, and if she can navigate past the third round, a spot in the semis is well within grasp. In that third round, she could face Safina or Victoria Azarenka. They squared off in the German Open semis and do battle at the first hurdle here.
Apart from Ivanovic, the next highest seed is No. 6 Anna Chakvetadze. A second-round loss to Azarenka in Germany exacerbated her woes.
Prediction: Ivanovic
Second Quarter: Tricky for SerenaWilliams, her 17-match winning streak halted by Safina last week, needs to be on her toes from the outset. Alona Bondarenko, who thumped Kuznetsova en route to the quarterfinals in Berlin, probably awaits in the second round, and Hungarian teen Agnes Szavay looms in the third. Szavay has reached the quarters in her last three tournaments and led Ivanovic by a set and break before faltering in the German Open.
Kuznetsova made it to at least the semifinals in her three events prior to exiting in the third round at the German Open. An easy looking section should see her back in the last eight.
Prediction: Kuznetsova
Third Quarter: Venus's return Much intrigue surrounded Venus Williams when she pulled out of a few clay-court tournaments last month, without citing an injury. Her agent, Carlos Fleming, would later say Williams was undergoing routine medical tests to make sure everything was in order prior to a hectic summer.
In her first appearance in more than a month, Williams could face another pro on the comeback trail, Aussie Samantha Stosur, in the second round. A former top 30 in singles and doubles No. 1, Stosur contests her first top-tier tournament since last year's U.S. Open, out with a viral illness.
Williams will have a difficult time reaching the quarterfinals -- Vera Zvonareva, barring an upset, figures to be her third-round opponent. Zvonareva is 31-7 and only missed out on the quarterfinals at one tournament in 2008, retiring in the opening round of the Australian Open.
Jankovic, the defending champion, could have her hands full in the second round. A potential foe is home favorite Flavia Pennetta, who claimed two clay-court titles on the Latin American swing.
Prediction: Zvonareva
Fourth Quarter: Sharapova's replyThere aren't many more gritty competitors than Sharapova, so don't expect the photo shoot brouhaha to affect her on-court performance. The most dominant player on the women's circuit the first three months of the season, Sharapova meets a dangerous floater in the second round -- either Gisela Dulko or Dominika Cibulkova, her victim in last month's Amelia Island final.
In the third round, mom Sybille Bammer, who tested Ivanovic in Berlin, or 17-year-olds Caroline Wozniacki and slightly-less-tricky Tamira Paszek, may feature. Assuming she overcomes the early obstacles, a spot in the semis looks likely for Sharapova.
Prediction: Sharapova
SemifinalsIvanovic leads Kuznetsova 5-1 in their head-to-heads, so has the mental edge, even if both encounters on clay last year went the distance. Sharapova leads Zvonareva 5-3, with all eight matches relatively tight. They split the last two, and this would be their first battle on clay in four years.
Prediction: Sharapova, Ivanovic to advance
FinalSharapova's win over Ivanovic in the Australian Open final looked comfortable, but take away a failed Ivanovic drop shot when she led 5-4, 30-0 in the first set and the result might have been different. Ivanovic routed Sharapova in their lone clay-court duel, too, limiting her opponent to just three games in the 2007 French Open semifinals.

what part do books and magaxines play in your life? have you read something that has influenced who you are?what literacy was banned from you growing?

To tell you the truth I don’t really read books or magazines, maybe magazines. But the only magazine I would read or look at is sport magazines. I grow up reading book or anything online, or if I read something it’s for a class or for something important. Yeah I read a book that influenced me about who I am the book “the outsiders”. I am not going to details about the book but it’s good. When I was younger my parents never banned any types of literacy. The only thing they would tell me is to stop watching TV and go read something but they will never tell me to stop reading.
